Faith Formation
Sunday School in the NALC helps children and young people, learn about God, Jesus Christ, and the Bible. It aims to strengthen faith, encourage discipleship, and foster a deeper understanding of the Christian faith. Classes run during the schoolyear and recess during the summer.
Confirmation Classes
Confirmation classes are a way for young people to connect with their Christian faith, learn more about their beliefs, and participate more fully in the life of the church. Classes often cover topics like the Ten Commandments, the Apostles' Creed, the Lord's Prayer, baptism, confession, and the Eucharist. Classes are being held on Mondays, online, during the schoolyear for 2025-2026. Confirmation, a public declaration of faith, is a special ceremony held upon commencement of classes.
Bible Study
In the North American Lutheran Church (NALC), Bible study is a core activity, with a focus on using the Bible as the primary source for understanding faith and living out Christian life. The NALC believes the Bible is the authoritative word of God, and therefore, it's essential for guiding doctrine and practice.
Bible Study is held on Monday evenings at 6:30 pm. Fall of 2025 through Spring of 2026, the sessions will focus on the “Minor Prophets,” the books from Hosea through Malachi.
Mission Trips
“Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, ‘Whom shall I send?’ And I said, ‘Here am I. Send me!” — Isaiah 6:8
Disaster Relief Mission Trip to Burnsville, N.C.
Along with our partners; Salem Lutheran (Bark River, MI) and Zion Lutheran (Felch, MI), we made quilts, care packages, gathered bibles, and raised funds for disaster relief.
In June of 2025, two of our members accompanied a larger group from Zion Lutheran Church from Felch, MI and traveled to Burnsville, NC for a week of rebuilding, restoring, and sharing GOD'S love with those in need in that area.
It was a humbling and rewarding experience to say the least and we hope to continue this work in the future.
